About Us

The village Panchayat of Paroda is situated in the Salcete Taluka of the South Goa district. It has a population of 3419 as per Official Gazette Dated 29/1/2019. The Panchayat consists of 7 wards and has 4 male representatives and 3 female representatives ( Total 7 representatives). Ward IV ,III, VII are reserved for women , and ward III for S.T and ward VII is reserved for OBC. 80 % ST 31.38 % SC. The Panchayat has 5 Government primary schools 4 are closed and 1 is running. There are 5 Anganwadis centers in Paroda one at Mullos, Agramorod, Gudi Paroda, and karally. Panchayat is paying rent for four Anganwadis.

In Paroda we have the famous River Kushavati River. Paroda village is 100% Agricultural land. Our Paroda village having 7 temple, one church, one chapel and the most famous temple of this village is Chandeshwar Buthnath Temple. It is in the highest pick of the state. The said point of the temple was identified by the Portuguese Government to control the Arms and Ammunition during their war in 1961, the said temple is taken by Tourism Department. The famous zatra of the said temple is on Darshan Temple at Zuna Bazar, Shant Durga Sateri Devasthan temple at Paroda Dessaiwada, Mahadev Temple at Mullem At Gudi we have Brama Devasthan hall and Ganpati temple.

We have one church that is Immaculate Conception Church at Paroda and our Lady of Piety Chapel at Mullem Gudi and Zuze Vaz Chapel at Agramorod Mullem Gudi.Dr. Nevill’s Open Air Hall at Zariwaddo and Lotlikar Nagesh Love forest. In our village we have Damodar Nursing Home and it was run by Dr. K.R. Kamath.

General Introduction

The aim of the situation analysis:

  • To create awareness about the village planning process with people involvement.
  • To understand the status of various sectors in the village.
  • To collect data, identify problems and issues existing in the village and eventually enable the Panchayat to prepare their Village “Panchayat Development Plan’’.
  • To identify projects, proposals works in various sectors of development as part of the GPDP.
  • To Know the problems faced by the villagers personally.
  • To understand the various difficulties faced by villagers such as sanitation, lights, roads drainages etc.
  • To get a better view of different wards of the Village.
